 General Rule

(Applies to All)

The select subject must be prominently displayed and the PRIMARY focus of the image, so that an ordinary person would recognize it as such.

Flower(s)

·     The object that is the focus of attention in the image must be Flower(s) and/or parts of Flower(s).  Any kind of Flower is acceptable.

October

Patterns

·     A repetitive design or arrangement of objects that can be natural or accidental in origin.

·     Ex: Markings on butterfly wings, brick walkway, etc.

November

Fruits and/or Vegetables

·     The object that is the focus of attention in the image must be Fruits and/or Vegetables or parts of Fruits and/or Vegetables.

December

 

Motion Blur

·     Subject or Background blurred but not both.   Showing motion through blurred subject, background, or other elements.

Door Hardware

·     The object that is the focus of attention in the image must be Red.

 

·     Monochrome – Door Hardware, knobs, locks, etc.

February

In Flight

·     The object that is the focus of attention in the image must be In Flight.

·     Ex: Aircraft, birds, balloons, bats, etc.

March

Time Piece(s)

·     The object that is the focus of attention in the image must be Time Piece(s).

·     Ex: Clocks, watches, their parts, etc.

April

Graveyards

·     The object that is the focus of attention in the image must be something to                      do with Graveyards.

·     Ex: Head Stones, markers, statuary, ornaments, signs, etc.

May

Railroads

 

·        The object that is the focus of attention in the image must be something to do with Railroads.

·        Ex: Trains, train engines, train cars, tracks, signs, etc.

June

Nature

·        The images must be naturally present in Nature.  There can be no additions/deletions/distortions to the original image AFTER it is taken. (sharpening, etc is permitted).

·        Must not contain any presence of the “hand of man”.  In other words everything must be there naturally, without human intervention.

·        It is your responsibility NOT to enter images where the “hand of man” has been removed after the image was taken, except for cropping.

·        The image must not include wires, posts, lawns, construction, etc

·        Unacceptable (examples): Cultivated or domestic plants, pets, farm animals, mounted specimens, leaves, sticks that are placed like props.
